About

Monika Rani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Kurukshetra University (Kurukshetra, India) and a Master’s degree in Optical Engineering from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (Hisar, India). She completed her Master’s in 2014. From 2019 to 2024, she worked as a PhD student at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, where her doctoral research was entitled “Study of Performance Parameters of Diffraction Lloyd Mirror Interferometer”. During her PhD, she also worked as a Project Associate and later as a Senior Project Associate at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (Chandigarh, India), where she developed optical setups for schlieren  imaging systems and holographic wavefront printing. From 2024 to 2026, Monika worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU, Roskilde, Denmark) under the supervision of Prof. Mayank Jain, where she led the design and development of a confocal laser scanning microscopy system for measuring optically active metastable states in crystalline materials. Since June 2026, Monika has been working as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Giuseppe Vicidomini in the Molecular Microscopy and Spectrocopy research line, where she is working on advanced adaptive and intelligent optical imaging systems for next-generation smart microscopy applications.
